F.A.Q's and Policies

If there is a reason to have food for any occasion we can cater it! We do anything from  birthday cakes and small office luncheons to large celebrations like wedding for a few hundred of your friends and everything in between. 

Absolutely, we deliver all over Colorado.

 That being said, as much as I love a nice drive, for out of town, back road 4 wheel drives (yes you do need to let me know if I am delivering a 4 tier wedding cake on a 4 wheel drive only road!), or unique circumstances, there are some extra fees.

Delivery is also subject to availability. 

As with everything, there are options!

Option 1: A drop off delivery for a  10% fee. This includes delivery. You will set up and provide your own dishes.  

Option 2: A fancy drop off delivery for a  15% fee. This includes delivery, professional set up and seasonal disposables as needed. Disposable chafing racks can be included for an additional $5/each. With this option, you clean up your own mess!

Option 3: A drop off plus option where we will come back to pack everything up and clean up the buffet for a 20% fee. This also include the use of the regular chafing dishes. 

Options for full service vary depending on your event needs. Full service include not only all the set up and clean up, but staffing during the entire event as well.  Staffing fees vary based on the individual event. 

Please keep in mind that these are for deliveries within the Colorado Springs area. Out of town deliveries will incur additional fees. 

Yes. FaerieTales makes all of our products in our kitchen from scratch. We can accommodate some special food requests, but please be aware we use wheat, dairy and nuts in our bakery everyday therefore we can not guarantee there will be no exposure to these products. Because  substituting these ingredients are more expensive, there will be a 25% up-charge for some dietary accommodations.

Here at FaerieTales we realize you are most likely on a budget. Instead of quoting per person, we like to sit down with you and design a menu that is specifically for your day. This way you can mix and match higher end items with less expensive comfort foods and still keep it with in your budget.  Plus we think it’s more fun to totally customize a menu with you!

Our wedding cake charges include delivery, set-up and an Anniversary Cake. By charging per person we can more easily customize what you want your cake to look like. For 100 people, we can do a 1 tier cake or a 4 tier cake,  by charging per person instead of by layer or tier it makes it a little easier to figure out.

Our wedding cake prices start at $3.50 a slice.

For catered events, there is a non-refundable deposit of $250. This deposit holds the date and will go toward the balance of the event. An additional 50% deposit is due within 30 days of the contract being written (once the $250 deposit is paid, that is considered the contract for service). 100% is due two weeks prior to the event, along with the final guest count, unless other arrangements have been made with your caterer. If the event is booked less than 14 days before the event, the event must be paid in full, unless other arrangements have been made. Because we pride ourselves on quality, FaerieTales limits the number of events per week, your deposit assures your date will be available. 

There is no refund on the $250 deposit.

Refunds of the 50% deposit will be given if an event is cancelled 30 days before an event. No refund will be given if the event is canceled less than 14 days prior to the event. (This includes things such as snow days.) 

Catering must be pain in full prior to delivery.

We accept all credit cards as well as cash. 

A tasting is just what it sounds like! You get to taste several selections of food.  They give us the opportunity to meet with you and get a better idea of the vision you have for your big day! It also gives us a chance to get a better price quote based on what you are looking for. If you have pictures or ideas of what you have in mind, please feel free to bring them with.

For wedding cake tasting, you will get a large selection of our cakes with a variety of fillings to play with and mix and match. This is by far one of my favorite parts of planning!

For catering tastings, we will work with you to choose 4-5 selections off the menus. We recommend you have items narrowed down since you will not be able to taste our whole menu!

Wedding cake tastings are $25 per person. Catering tasting are $50 per person. 50% of this will go toward your event balance if you choose us for your event. 

We schedule tasting by appointment only and must be made 2 weeks in advance. Please call for openings and additional information. Also, please let us know any specific selections or allergies one week before the tasting.

Once we have a tasting, we will hold the date for you for 5 days afterwards. After 5 days we can not guarantee your date will still be available with out a deposit. 

Currently we do not provide cake toppers, but we are more than happy to use one that you provide. We can recommend places to order one or we are happy to make edible decorations as a topper. If you are providing a cake topper, we must have it 1 week prior to the event. As for flowers, we can work with your florist to get the flowers for your cake that match the flowers for your wedding. We can provide flowers in specific colors for an additional fee, but we can not guarantee they will be an exact match, but we do the best we can! When working with your florist, please keep in mind that the flowers must be food safe if they will be coming in contact with the cake. The one thing we do require when working with your florist is we place the flowers on the cake, not the florist. We can’t be responsible for any disasters from florist gone cake designer (this goes for well meaning relatives too)!

FaerieTales has limited rentals of china and linens, but can easily recommend outside rentals. For all rentals and deposits, a credit card is required. It will be kept on file until all items are returned and any damage is assessed. Please talk to your caterer for additional details.

No we do not rent out our show cakes/”dummy cakes”.  Kitchen cakes are generally for very large weddings or weddings that do not have a large fancy cake, but still want to eat it. Kitchen cakes start at $3.00 per person. These are still labor intensive and include delivery , set-up and the anniversary cake.  The decoration is similar to the main cake ; you don't want to be a guest at a wedding and see the couple cutting a beautiful 4 layer cake, but then you are served a sad 2 layer one! These must be ordered in addition to a wedding cake.

We love to hang out with our customers, but unfortunately, no. We do not have a walk-in bakery/restaurant at this time. All consults and tastings are by appointment only.
